It seems the snow settling on the Shenley pitches has enabled Theo to have the time to dig his pen out and sign his new contract. The three and a half year extension takes him to the end of the summer of 2016. Theo at that point will be 27 and at if not well into the peak of his career. It’s a great deal for Theo, all told thought to be worth £25Mil to him, and if he goes through the deal he will of course have played a testimonial match.
For me Theo has always been a priority, a nice lad, and often harshly criticized but now at nearly 23 it’s time to step up and become the man he is being paid to be. Already the clubs top goalscorer this season, but we really need Theo to push on, and like Jack carry the mantle in every game. With his pace and finishing ability Theo can make a difference.
The deal wraps up the fab Five, Wilshere, Chambo, Gibbs, and Jenkinson, and English core to the future of the team. The has also been an improved offer made to Bacary Sagna, but Arsenal need more, we know that, and I’m sure internally the club do. Talk of a £30Mil offer going into a German side, nobody has said it has been accepted, but if Arsenal are going in at that price it must be a top player. January is a difficult time to buy, but when you let the summer drift by and sell your main source of goals, then you have to pay the price.
Arsenal have a huge tie this weekend and the squad will now be focused on Sunday’s clash, still the snow may stop it going ahead, Chel$ki have called off games in the past for less snow, and so we will see.
Tesco Terry should be back, he’s recovered from being fed horse burgers by his mum, so that will mean we can really put our hearts into boooooing. Arsenal still have Arteta out, Rosicky seems to be permanently dead, and Gervinho is in Africa.
Last years match at the slum was really a huge highlight in the season, Santos’ second half revitalisation, Terry’s slip, and of course the perv’s goals…….. quality day out, lets hope the snow doesn’t stop us having another party, this time thanks to Rafa!
Come on Arsenal!
