Worryingly I’m more excited about Chamakh knocking ManUre out of the FA Cup than our own fixture. That’s sad right? The FA Cup was a magical experience when I was a lad, but I think that’s age, I’m pretty sure 10/11/12 year olds going to their first games will be buzzing for the cup. Perhaps it’s also the fact I think we’re gonna get dumped out of it that doesn’t help!
I saw I wouldn’t go back to Swansea as I left the ground last year, but here we are again, facing the long road to South West Wales. How much is the toll these days?
As well as the Chamakh deal other official news today is that Walcott is the player of the month for December, Wenger has said Djourou and Squillaci are free to leave. I’ve heard that before. It does seem though that Djourou at least will get a move away from the club. It begs the question who will be the fourth choice centre back? SanMiguel looks set to seal a loan move away also so it must open up the door for a new player coming in.
Chiekhou Kouyate and Yanga M’Biwa are two of the newest names on the ‘gossip’ list. Jonas Olsson is also tipped to have been talking to Arsenal. It does look likely a centre back will come in.
In ultra spin David Villa is still being linked and some media sources are saying Arsenal have opened ‘official’ negotiations with Barca. It looks like a long month!
I get the feeling we’ll wake up to news on 1st February that Theo Walcott is like a new signing………… right I’m off to shake my self out of this lull and crack on the positive pills before the road trip to Swansea!
