With the shadow on the 1000 negative muppets on the roundabout hanging over the game I’d have hoped we’d come out all singing and dancing but on recent form it’s no surprise we got taught a few lessons.
It was so flat from the start, lacking any inspiration of sparkle to kick the game of, Swansea yet again seemed set to outplay us at the game we invented! Pass and move and fluid attacking play. Angel Ranger was causing us problems early on but half hour in Arsenal did start to make an impression. Podolski had a shot blocked and Cazorla one comfortably saved.
Gervinho missed a header in the dying moments but the half was poor overall. Cazorla opened the second half with a shot and we would have hoped the tide had turned, it hadn’t. Arsenal just sloppy in their play and the cold was starting to get to us all in the stands looking on!
Gervinho and Cazorla had shouts for penalties but bother probably would have been harsh. Giroud was also brought down through on goal, Clattenburg was set to give us nothing, but as the minutes wore on it was Swansea who stuck their necks out, much like Schalke had down at Arsenal, it was the away team on top. Chesney made a good save from Tiendalli. Michu though stole the show with two late strikes, on both goals it was a parting of the waves from the defence, and two one on one finishes. Suicide.
The final whistle came and boooooo’s rang out, where do we go from here?
