Come on you Gooners, let’s hoof the hoofers

Come on you Gooners, let’s hoof the hoofers thumbnail

by Block19er on February 9, 2010

I was very pleased to see a quieter reaction to the game on Sunday, maybe we expected to lose, and the fact the players showed some heart and fight…………. well it was better!!

Still we all want to be winning every game and it is frustrating we lose games so easily. The top two, lets face it, there is a top two, seem to be able to find gaps in our team when they need to. They can score from set pieces and on the break as our team seem tactically nieve when defending.

Diaby should NEVER come back for corners. He is more of a hindrance than a help. He always loses his marker, sometimes nod it is his own net, and never clears it. Clichy is having a nightmare. The second goal on the break again was him caught in two minds, ball or space, Vermaelen followed the same confusion and Dogbreathe just walked through us.

Still we battled on and despite not having a killer up top we did create chances. The game tomorrow is crucial to us now, it’s the difference between being a comfortable third and fighting for fourth, at that start of the season a comfortable third would have been good. It would also mean 4 points from 12, 3 down on what I’d have hoped for. Still the way this league is if Arsenal are able to now stick a good run of results together we can have a great season.

Arsène talked solidarity today and it’s our job to show that solidarity on the terraces, lets whip up an atmosphere tomorrow;

It is important that we support each other and show solidarity and show that people who try to destroy that are not right.

Come on Gooners, 57,000 of us, lets make some noise.

Away from the game, Wenger dismissed the Sorensen link (sort of), but he did try to make a couple of last ditch signings. It would be no shock to me if Sorensen and Chamakh were revealed as Arsenal players early this summer as Wenger clearly is trying to add a sprinkling of finished articles to this special group of young/growing players.

I think you’ll see in the paper tomorrow, Ivan Gazidis or Arsenal have written to Barcelona, the letter goes

Dear Spain,

Fuck off. Leave Cesc alone.

Piss off

Arsenal

Well that is what it should have said anyway.

Wilshere look decent for Boltan tonight, despite them letting Citeh walk all over then, I might have a little punt on him making the Engerlund 23 this summer.

He’s probably put himself ahead of Theo on current form but Theo’s chance is not over. I’m sure he’s more than aware it’s time to turn on the style. Super Nick must start. I’d also be very tempted to shift Gallas or Vermy to left back and bring Campbell in. Clichy is just too out of form.

I’d also play Song, Cesc, and Nasri with Theo, Bendy, and Andrey up top. I’m sure Diaby will start but we have only scored 1 in 3 games, something has got to change.

Lets all get up for it guys, WE ARE ARSENAL!!

read on the telegraph that a verbal agreement between cesc and barca has been reached. would hate for that to happen, but i wouldn’t blame him if he goes. he has looked forlorn of late.

I tend to agree, move Vermy to left back and bring in Sol….In agreeing I have to take your word for it that Vermy could handle it, but Clichy is definately out of sorts and we have to tighten our defence. Up front is the usual lottery where another piece of the jigsaw is missing. Anyone who scores a brace will be hailed as the new `messiah`.
Make it worth my while getting up early Arsenal and sharing the setee with a lass from Scottie Road.

    Tonight I would play

    Mannone(our best keeper)
    Sagna Vermy Gallas Traore
    Cesc Song Diably
    Eboue Bendy Arshavin

Eboue looked up for it on Sunday and was willing to try and take people on. He done more than Walcott on Sunday.

Interesting comments re; the left back position. Clichy needs to be dropped whatever happens. I would be tempted to put Eboue at RB and move Sagna across – I’m sure he has played LB before?

Hate to say it but I agree with the comments about Clichy. Its a real dilema though – do you drop him and risk damaging his confidence even further, or do you stick with him and hope he’ll get some form back?

I would play Traore with a diamond midfield of Song, Rambo and Diaby ahead and Cesc in the hole. Walcott and Bendy to play up front. My instructions to Wally would be to play on Gaz’s or Carra’s shoulder- all the time. My insts to Bendy would be to drop off and get flick-ons. Pool would have to defend very very deep with full backs tucked in and our midfield in that space would moyder them!! Bring Arse on for Wally to do the same after 55mins.
