Both results today were good for the gunners as Liverhoof and Chavski both dropped two points. Assuming the mancs win their game in hand against Fulham we’re only 1 point behind those three, certainly better than the scum who managed to get their first point of the season today, well done! Only taken you three games.
There’s no more news re van Persie’s injury today, it looked worringly like the incident against Man Utd where he broke his foot – i.e. he shot, then Neville (Beye this time) stamped on his foot. Let’s all say a prayer for him tonight, we don’t want him out for too long!
Wenger asked about Kalou – a bit of an odd one if I’m honest, I haven’t really seen anything to really set him apart from other strikers yet. He has pace, but what else? Ade has pace and power and occasionally, a good touch. Robin has skill and aggressive (and brittle bones). Kalou? Not sure to be honest.
A couple of thoughts about yesterday’s game – Nasri, pure class again. Has body strength and a short piece of string attaching his foot to the ball. There was one wonderful bit of play where he was boxed in our half, a couple of twists and turns and he was away free. It’s early days, but I think Wenger’s found another one here to add to Sagna and Eduardo. Extra respect for taking that fucking scum bag Barton out of the ball as well after the attempted axing. Vela looked lively as well, although I need to see much more of him to tell really.
The atmosphere was a good deal better that Wednesday night as well in block 25. Maybe the fact that most people had spent the afternoon drinking beer in the sun had something to do with it?! The geordies were quieter than last time as well – I suppose getting beaten 3-0 for the third time in a row must lower morale slightly.
2 weeks till the next game, this international break is fucking stupid. When we get back we have the week from hell – Blackburn away on Saturday, Kiev away on Wednesday, Bolton away on Saturday. That will sort the men from the boys! We will need the full depth of our squad (!) to see us through that week. I also have some serious respect for any fans that are doing all three trips, that is some serious commitment. Lets hope the players show half as much on the pitch.

It could get better in September….
reading the rumour mill… Viera to sign for 1-2 mill or on loan. Possibly Henry for 9.5 mill, Owen for 9 million or swap for Brendtner, Veloso for 18 mill, Metzelder on loan.. Kerlon to arsenal next season.. An interesting pint made by one of these wannabee pundits..”Henry to be resigned by Arsenal by the end of the transfer window. The shirts sales will make it cash neutral.”
Most of this is bollocks but if some of it is true we could have a killer team to win the league this season!!
Come on sports fans what do u think.. I am still unconvinced but pray Le Boss has a plan!!

i struggle to see much positive to say about kaulou and mikel. i admiot i don’ watch chelsea normally (yawn) but every time i have seen them the two of them have looked seriopusly lightweight in a team of stars. he’d do ok at newcastle but chelsea or arsenal?
=/

“I have a dream”. remember that one? Well dreams are cheap enough so here`s mine. Resign Patrick Vieria on a one year contract with one year option to stabilze the mid field and assist and advise our new captain Cesc Fabregas. Like I said dreams are cheap.

I gotta agree 100% with Jack.Imagine having Paddy back in that midfield alongside Fabregas.
Dreams can come true Jack!!Come on Arsene make everyone’s dream come true!!!

Arsene does not take players back, he has said it before, if you take a player back, then anyone in the current squad can think “I’ll go & try it at XXX club & if it does not work, I can always come back to Arsenal”. Pat is good mates with lots of people at Arsenal, he is also good mates with Mikael, so not a big story seeing him at Arsenal to watch the best football in Europe being played, also remember Arsene sold him as he felt his knees were fcuked. I loved Pat at the time, but lets now look forward rather than back.

I concur, and to bring back PV4 – An Arsenal Legend to play a bit part role in our season would be a shame!! I’d rather we had hung on to Gilberto that disgrace PV in that way. Secondly I dont think you will get the same performances as we used to know PV was capable of.

ok so i dont know whether you do requests but i really like your blogs and ive noticed that everyone seems quick to criticise william gallas, but the way he stood up for nasri when kevin keegan was having a go at him is what a captain should do. its not the only time hes done it either, if theres one thing you can rely on him for as a captain it is that-sticking up for his players- anyway like i said i dont know if you do requests but if you do i would really like too see a blog- or even a foot note on the end of a blog about that. because we all know if gallas did something bad there would be one about it so why not when he does something good

Keegan shit himself as Gallas rode forward, I’d have loved Gallas to chin him, sure he’d be banned for a few games, it’d have been funny though.

I gotta admit I didn’t know that had happened, did they show it on Sky? Good lad Gallas then, more of that please. What do people think about his pre match chat with the team in the warm up that Sky always show, reckon the players respect it? I hope so, he’s certainly been there and done it in terms of winning stuff so he should know his stuff.
