Arsenal 3 v 0 Newcastle

What a day. Arsenal were back to their best and in a mirror of last season we crushed Newcastle three-nil. That flattered Newcastle. As well as the goals there were loads of other chances and every player on the pitch could have had a goal, well no Manuel, he must have been pretty bored.

Arsenal cranked it up from the start, obviously a reaction to last week, with Wengers words ringing in their ears it was not long before we were camped in their half and raining in corners. The first corner actually should have been a penalty from where I was sitting and that was pretty close. It was only moments into the game and Cesc sent Van in to be fouled near the by-line. The ref looked to the Lino but he bottled it and gave a corner, Cesc and Van didn’t looked impressed, I tried to impart my wisdom on the Lino’s ears but they seemed closed!!

Gallas missed by millimeters with a side-foot and Toure banged one in from way out. It was an impressive display and Adebayor was working well with Eboue down the right. It was that combination which led to the first goal. Ade tricked his way into the box and went to cross the ball but N’ Zogbia stuck his arm in the way, Penalty, Van Persie grabbed the ball and smashed it home to the keepers left.

Van Persie gets it all going

Arsenal dominated play and Newcastle rarely got the ball, Adebayor could have made it two, before Van Persie did. It was great work down the right from Eboue again. He looked at one point he was gonna go over but he burst into the box and back heeled, yes Eboue back heeled it, to Van Persie who was not gonna miss.

Awesome Arsenal and every player was making his contribution. The second half did not see Arsenal slack, they wanted it still, Newcastle had no chance. Nasri came into his own down the left and seemed unplayable, skipping in and out, he’s great to watch. Denilson was also 1000% better, he was much more composed alongside Cesc, and it was Denilson who made it three-nil and over just before the hour.

Adebayor set up the goal as he drifted in from the left this time, and linked up with Nasri on the edge of the box, Adebayor got it back as he moved across the field and fed Denilson, a great finish from 12 yards. Just moments later, Van Persie crashed a shot against the underside of the bar, my god was it good. I wish that had have gone in because it would have gone down in legend with his goal away to Charlton.

As Van Persie hit that shot he picked up a knock and went off with an injury, just as he teased us with his brilliance, I’ve heard it may be something to do with the fracture to his toe from before, god I hope he’s not injured. That would put a cloud over this game.

Not to dwell on Van the Man cos his replacement looked pretty hot too. Vela managed to carve open Newcastle a couple of times without finding a finish. Clichy even tested Given. It was a shame we didn’t make it five or six but three will do for sure. Adebayor worked tirelessly and tried twice to set Theo up but ‘the Englishman at arsenal’ didn’t seem to want to print his name on the scoresheet and missed both times.

Ashburton Grove rose to it’s feet to celebrate an impressive display. Well done Arsenal.

In the second half I had a text saying Vieria was in the crowd. Is he coming home? Only a couple of days till that window closes.

The bad news, two weeks off, I can’t wait that long to see us again!!

UPDATE: Will Kevin Keegan FUCK OFF! What a scum bag supporting that idiot Joey Barton. Well done to Arsenal for giving him what for. Keegan had a go at Nasri at the final whistle for tripping Barton. Keegan must be thick, do you think Sami Nasri knows who Barton is? It was in reaction to a tackle, right in front of Keegan, that could have broken Nasri’s leg.

Arsenal:Almunia, Sagna, Toure, Gallas, Clichy, Eboue (Walcott 72), Fabregas, Denilson (Song 69), Nasri, Adebayor, Van Persie (Vela 63). Subs Not Used: Fabianski, Ramsey, Djourou, Bendtner.

Booked:Fabregas, Nasri.

    Falling Fraz

What a difference a week makes eh?I could not believe the difference in the team.Sitting watching the game in our local watering hole in Edinburgh. When the tv camera went on to Viera sitting in the crowd all i thought was LEGEND!!.Could he come home?,would he come home?would Wenger bring him home?
He could,he defineltley would and Le Boss should!!
Also Mike Ashley(the NUFC owner)was sitting in the away section with the fans, which i thought was fair play to him,as he could be in the exec area.
As the second half started the camera went on to him sitting back in his seat with the fans and he was downing a pint!!!
Must be one rule for one and one rule for another.Anyway time for some international pish, happy days.
    All the best.

    Fraz.

Perhaps we should all grab a pint at half time and go back to our seats to prove a point!!
