3 weeks ago we were 11 points behind Chavski, most of us giving up hope of being in contention for the title and now a couple of days before Chrimbo we are sitting in third spot 6 points behind Chavski with a game in hand.
Of course we need to win our game in hand,no doubt, but being where we are at the moment is amazing with all to play for.
We have a very important game coming up this weekend and while the wifes and kids are thinking about what Santa will be bringing them, all us lot are thinking who’s playing against Villa and who is and isn’t fit!!!!
It is the old clichy but the Villa game is a definete six pointer no doubt. They have already taken a couple of scalps this season from the so called top four and will be looking to do the same with us.
Though with all due respect i don’t think they will be serious title contenders, where as thanks to Everton,Villa,Fulham and West Ham with fixtures in our favour against the Mancs and Chavski,we are now well back in the hunt and we must take all 3 points on Sun.
Interesting also this week to see Kroenke increasing his shares which inevatably looks like a full takeover on the horizon.
I am all for it and as i have said before if this is what we need to do to keep up with the way other clubs are spending and bringing the big money players then so be it.
I just hope that he wouldn’t come in with the demands of this that and the next thing,we must win this we must sign him or to be honest my biggest fear is changing the manager.
As you know i am a massive fan of Arsene and i still strongly believe he is the man to lead the club,no doubt about it. I just hope that Stan the man will see that as well.
Not that i feel sorry for Mark Hughes in any shape or form but the way the people running the club were not the most diplomatic and it is a sin that they behaved in the way they did and how they handled his exit.
I hope that if what seems inevitable, with Stan Kroenke taking over he comes in and gives Wenger cash to spend and allow him to carry on the way he has been, with a bit investment on the playing side.
A few names have been mentioned of who we may be looking to buy come January. Carlton Cole,Chamakh,Gignac to name a few.
Stuart Pearce made a good point a couple of weeks ago and said that Stephen Ireland would be a good player for Arsenal and i agree i think he could be a good asset to our side a big burly player who also has a good eye for goals.
Good chance also he may be surplus to requirements under Mancini at City!!!
What ever happens i just hope Wenger buys in Jan. as it is essential he does so,to keep us in there and on top come the end of May.
I must say Adeybayor has surprised me at City – I said when he signed in the summer as we all did, give it a year and he will be spitting the dummy out at City and cause unrest in the dressing room. Well fuck me he has exceeded my expectations and managed to do it with in six months!!!!
So expect to see that lazy arsed mercenary up for sale come Jan. Another player who will be sure to look back on his career in a few years and wish he had never left the best club in the world!!! Speak to Anelka matey boy!!!
As this is my last blog before Xmas i would like to take this opportunity to wish all my fellow Clockenders a very Merry Xmas on behalf of all at Arsenal Scotland……….even the boo boys at is a time of goodwill and all that.
Best Wishes.
Fraz.

Has anyone noticed that all the city players are revolting and want to leave…We need a new keeper….Shay Given?

Why do people think Kroenke would “give” AW more cash if he took over? What has Kroenke ever done in his past to suggest that? Based on the way he runs his sports teams in the US I would say that he most certainly WILL NOT give AW “extra” money. As is the case now AW will get the money he generates through normal footballing activities to spend, as should be the case.
People seem to think that the extra profit we are now earning due to the Emirates Stadium will be used for transfers, but that is not the case and never has been. The club ALWAYS made it perfectly clear that the purpose of building the new stadium was to increase salaries, not to spend silly money on players. That was stated clearly on day one and has never changed.

Its fantastic to see city in crisis already,i thought it would take at least a full season. We do need a keeper but its not a priority at the moment.Wenger will only sign one player next month and it really needs to be a striker i think.

Great post Fraz, I agree that Wenger must guide us on for at least the next few seasons, more than anything to see his vision become a reality. A couple of trophies and an outstanding bunch of men with the boys in the young guns champing at the bit on the periphery. Great news though, if u are looking for a footy fix Toulouse & Bordeaux play tonight on IRAQ GOALS so a chance possibly to see Chamakh v Gignac, either could be on Wenger’s Radar. Heard news that Melo could be back in with a shout too, don’t recon we need him with Deni & Diaby fit though? What do u recon?

We need a keeper more than anything else. We are ok up front and now Eddie has his goal I think his confidence will start to come back. Bentdner is not far away.
I would love us to test City out with a cheeky 10m bid for Given. Or even try for David James.
I think if we can get a decent keeper we will not be far away at the end of the season. With Almunia I think we will finish 3rd.

Don’t know if we could get one of them, but Zamora or Crew are the sort of big/strong strikers that could do well in a side that can get the ball to them, and I like their attitude.
