most people had heard of tv, albeit through football manager, and thus expected him to be a bust. i’ve only seen gignac play a few times, but he’s always score; would be nice to get someone with a bit more of a work ethic though. an englishman if at all possible would be refreshing.

I will agree that he is an animal. Not to mention that he led ligue 1 in goals last year, beating out a certain mr. chamakh. he has also made a giant leap in the french national team in the past 6 months, scoring vital goals in the closing stages of qualification. he also seems pretty hard nosed for a frenchman, something we all know this team lacks. is he worth 12 million quid? not sure.

This Ligue 1 last years best goal scorers asking price was closer to £20mil last summer if recall correctly. Now 12mil…what`s up with that. Is toulouse in financial trouble or are they just get rid of this guy?

Nowadays 12mil sounds like a bargain.

I`d still take Dzeko for £18mil if it would be an option, like it has been rumoured. We need a guy who SURELY score goals and i think Dzeko will be safer bet. He has been really good this season also and that can`t be said about cignad.

I don`t know why i have a bad feeling about this Cignad fellow. Maybe because his name sounds a bit like Cisse…=).

This ageing French lad is becomming dense and just stubborn. He has become a fool of his own self as he is nolonger fooling any fans.I dont even have any kind words for him and i just wish Madrid had saved us this embarrassment last season.I wonder why he is referred to as a prof. Even us fans we can know the right players and who are better than this french lad.How can u bench a player like Sendoros for a full season. and resort to your French

1st: GIgnac plays for the national team of france so if you never heard of him you are really nt watching what is happening around you
2nd: he needs 10 shots to get one on target
3d he is an animal and when he does score it is with pure power but he is really not consistent and if you see a shot he lost against ireland away you’ll freak out
4:we need a player that is ready so out of the question,if we had the time to see him evolve under wenger yes but i’m kinda of in a hurry for a trophy and i dont mean the fa cup

    COME ON GUNNERS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

GIGNAC WOULD EB A GREAT BUY, SENDEROS TO ATH MADRID FOR £5M THEN WE ONLY PAY £7MILL FOR A TOP STRIKER. HE IS 6FT 1, STRONG AND FAST, 23YRS OLD AND ELIGABLE FOR CHAMPIONS LEAGUE +GALLAS/SAGNA/CLICHY/DIABY/NASRI WILL ALL MAKE SETTLE QUICKLY!!! PRETTY GOOD JANUARY SIGNING IF YOU ASK ME. NEXT SEASON STRIKE FORCE…VAN-PERSIE/GIGNAC/BENDTNER/EDUARDO/VELA.

Wenger is a shrude business man in the transfere market and i do not see him spending £18-20mill on a striker, especially one that can play Champions league! Knowing Wenger he will sell Senderos to Ath Madrid for £5mill and the buy Giganc for £12mill, which means he only spent £7mill for a top, top striker! Gignac would be a great Jan buy, he is 24 yrs old, 6ft 1, strong and fast and was top scorer in the french ligue last year in an average team. So the chances he would get in the Arsenal game, i think he will score goals!!! Between him and Bendtner, they could save our season???

MATEY CHECK UP ON PLAYERS B4 YOU START WRITING, COS HE’S BEEN BIGGER AND BIGGER SINCE THE DEPARTURE OF ELMANDER TO BOLTON(FAILURE CLUB) SO FOR YOU TO SAY YOU’VE NOT HEARD OF HIM IS A SHOCKER…HE’S GOT A PRESENCE UPFRONT,HE’S QUICK AND WILL GET YOU A FEW GOALS UNLIKE BENTNER AND WE NEED A PLAYER LIKE HIM IF YOU ASK ME….

Just watched all Cignacs goals last year and this guy seems have more luck than skills; he scored lot from rebounds from goalies and lot of “flipper balls” from corners and free kicks. We need luck, but i don`t think it`s worth paying 12mil. Rabbits foot is cheaper.
Edin Dzeko wins a lot long balls from centre backs and that`s how he scores. THAT`S WHAT WE NEED. Like RvP, but better with head.
If he can make us proceed in CL he`s worth extra 6mil or so. That`s why Bordeux will let Chamack for free next summer rather than sell him cheap january. Proceeding in champions league gains them lot more money.
But i hope Wenger knows as a business man, it is more profitable to buy a good striker for 20mil, than a cocky french fatty for a 12mil…

Donhou you are righ about everything,he had alot of luck, and because im french i’ve seen him a little, like i said he COULD(???)become good under wenger but we need a player that is ready like dzeko or fabianno(ahahah i know we cannot get this guy but imagine if we had him).

Ginac is definitely your typical target man but as much as I like him he might not fit Arsenal’s way of playing. How much assists have you seen from him? How much of his play brings other players into the game? If we want a direct RVP replacement then Gignac is not it – sure he’s a pure finisher but at Arsenal you need to be mobile and be able to play the Arsenal way. I won’t complain if Arsene buys Gignac but I’m still of the opinion that Dzeko or Chamakh or even Niang/Brandao can slot better into the Arsenal system.

Gignac is also very right footed and we know Wenger has a thing for balance in the team and we have enough right footers in the front line and he would probably prefer someone who is left footed or can use both feet.

He might score goals if we play the Faroe Islands every week…….Chamakh’s no better.
The French League is like Scotland, 2 or 3 decent teams and that’s it.
I even saw Diawara score last week in L2 – remember him? He played for Arsenal, West Ham and Blackburn in the 90′s and never scored a league goal for any of them.
    He scored again this week.
Cignac is a laughing stock here in France.

    @alex

I disagree with your berating of Gignac or Chamakh. The fact that Bordeaux is comfortably topping a CL group consisting of Bayern and Juventus is testament to his ability. He even has a couple braces in the group stages against 2 teams who have won the CL on a few of occasions.

Since Gourcuff came into the team it’s given Chamakh a new lease on life. Gourcuff’s creativity has helped to develop Chamakh’s intelligence up front and I’m certain Cesc, Arshavin, Rosicky and Nasri’s brilliance could do the same for the Moroccan.

@WC gignac may not have many assists or bring other players into the game but I think thats exactly what we need, a striker who is greedy. Think about it, most of the time when the likes of nasri, fabregas or even van persie get into good goalscoring positions they still pass it to someone else even though they have the ability because they are afraid to take the shot on. countless times I have heard arsenal fans in the crowd screaming shoot! SHOOT! .. SHOOOOOOOT! at the minute we only have one player who has the right balance up front and knows when to shoot, ARSHAVIN. Thats why he was so successfull last season although he is going through a rough patch at the minute, gignac could also bring some much needed strength to our squad. at the minute we only have bendtner who gives us that option and even he doesnt like to get physical with defenders, whereas gignac likes to give CBs a hard time and give them some problems. even if we dont buy him I hope wenger gets someone who plays with a similar style – tall, strong, physical and a predator in the box(GREEDY)

btw I would also love to see wenger sign blaszczykowski, this guy is f***ing awesome! just think, the speed of walcott and the skill and accuracy of arshavin and hes only 23!!! could get him 4 about 1o mil (BARGAIN!)

guys,we all know that villa is the best striker on the planet currently but to get him requires big spending which is something that never comes across winger’s mind..lets hope he gets someone like gignac instead of playing eduardo and vella..chamakh wont be able to play for us in the cl which wont be nice at all..
