I’ve been called off the bench to cover for Block19er whilst he tops up his tan and sips his favourite cocktail..or 3
As we are in the middle of summer and wimbledon and all that, thought I would do something a bit different and briefly spotlight something about our beloved Arsenal. Regular Clocekenders will remember that we travelled up to visit Fraz and the Arsenal Scotland boys recently and as part of the tour before the game we visited a plaque to David Danskin. Who the hell is he? you might ask. Well David was the founding member of Dial Square FC in 1886, subesequently renamed Royal Arsenal, and known today as the Mighty Arsenal. David was Born in Burntisland, Fife, Scotland in 1863 and died in 1948. He was one of the enthusiasts that laid the foundations in those early days and was the first chairman and captain no less. Although he moved onto other things it appears that his interest in Arsenal continued and he even managed to see some of the heights achieved in the 1930s. Well there you go, something to bore your friends with..
Contract news – both Jack Wilshere and Aaron Ramsey have signed new long deals in the last couple of days – this is great news.
Other than that I’m not seeing anything reliable in terms of transfer news..watch this space though as fellow bloggers will no doubt cover any breaking news…REDaction is on tomorrow..I’m back on Saturday
